Birds have long been considered a lovely form of nature. Their songs will wake us up in the morning and we think everything will be fine and dandy with all day. However, if you are not too careful, these animals could turn out to be your worst nightmare. Once they decide to make your compound their home, not only will they become a nuisance but you may also be at risk of contracting diseases from their waste. Here are several ways that you can go about effective bird control to ensure that these animals do not become a problem in your life.
- Never allow them to roost on your compound. Just like all other animals, birds come in thousands of species. Different species will have different roosting habits. The key is to first figure out what type of species you are dealing with so you can pinpoint their roosting habits. Some birds will prefer flocking to your roof. Prevent them from congregating there by installing spikes that will make it difficult for them to roost thus effective bird control.
- Get rid of any food sources that may be attracting them. Birds will not just come to your property for the sake of hanging out. They are opportunistic feeders and thus will be attracted by the free nourishment. Get rid of any bird baths that you may have. If you tend to eat outside, ensure that you are not leaving any crumbs behind or food items. In addition to this, birds will be attracted to warm and cozy nooks and crannies during the cold season. Thus, for effective control over these animals, ensure that any vents or openings are sealed from the outside thus preventing the birds from getting somewhere warm to nest.
Remember birds carry diseases in their fecal matter as well as pests on their bodies so effective bird control is pertinent.
